Just one small step…

If you want to do something very simple that costs you nothing but will make a huge impact on your quality of life, drink 1-2 liters of water upon waking up, before you do anything else.

This is something everyone can do but few choose to do it.  I, too, am guilty of neglecting my hydration.  I have gotten kidney stones more than once, and on the time when I had to take an ambulance to the hospital for kidney stones, we learned they were simply due to dehydration.  I am not proud of that fact, and if I didn’t feel like it would help someone else, I wouldn’t share it. But, at this point in my life, sharing information to help others is way more important than vanity to me.

When you drink 1-2 liters of water upon waking, if you can tolerate it, you should drink warm water.  I know it doesn’t sound very appealing, but after you start to do it, your body adjusts very quickly and it becomes tolerable. This one small step helps your body in immeasurable ways.  

If you want to up your game a bit, add fresh squeezed lemon juice to the water.  That is the true meaning of the quote, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!”  Although it is ideal to drink it warm, that may take some getting used to, but do try, the results are worth it!

You should also make sure to drink enough water throughout the day.  This is another thing we tend to neglect in our daily routines.  Just so you know how much you should drink, a simple way to calculate it is to take your weight in pounds, then divide that in half.  That number (one half of the number of pounds you weigh) is how many OUNCES of water you should drink every day.  So, if you weigh 100 pounds, divide that in half, which is 50 pounds.  Now you know you should drink 50 OUNCES of water each day.  

To make things simple, a cup of water is 8 ounces, so a 100 pound person should drink 6-7 cups of water each day.  Pretty simple, isn't it?! Now you just have to make a choice to do the right thing for your body and DO IT!

I know change is hard, but my goal is to share tips to make gradual changes you can make permanent in your lifestyle.

As you implement these simple changes, you will grow to want more changes.  That is why I share my healers’ information with you.  Following these tips and visiting these healers has helped me eat better, not smoke, not drink alcohol, feel better and look better.  And although I’m still a work in progress, I am happy with all of the progress I’ve made so far.  I hope that by sharing my knowledge with you, I can help you make small steps to a better and healthier life.
